Beijing People's Congress research group Inspect Beijing Internet Institute

July 29, 2015, a research group from Beijing Municipal People's Congress research group, Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and Beijing Economic Technological Development Area inspected Beijing Internet Institute’s (BII) Global Open Platform for Internet Infrastructure Technologies. Liu Dong, the President & CEO of BII Group and Beijing Internet Institute, presented Beijing Internet Institute’s research and practice among Domain Name System (DNS), IPv6 Next Generation Internet, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Internet of Energy (IoE).

During the visit, Yeti DNS Project, an experimental operation project which based on new technical architecture of IPv6 root system, aroused investigation team’s interest. All leaders gave consistently positive responses to the BII’s contribution in breaking the predicament of current root system, providing more extensible and secure root server system for Next Generation Internet, supporting not only Beijing but also national innovation. Meanwhile, they also provided some valuable suggestions of how to implement Yeti DNS Project and promote the real common governance and sharing of the global internet. Leaders in research group said that BII’s work in internet infrastructure technologies are "bright spots". They also encouraged BII to promote the unity, security and stability of global internet
